    ONVIF Support

Connect iVSEC cameras and recorders with compatible third-party devices and software using the ONVIF standard

ONVIF is a global standard for IP-based video surveillance products, ensuring compatibility between devices from different manufacturers.

ONVIF compatibility facilitates seamless integration of video streams, playback, and camera control across diverse platforms, whether it is for monitoring, recording, or analysis.

This interoperability enhances flexibility, scalability, and future-proofing for security systems, making products such as iVSEC an excellent choice for versatile and integrated surveillance setups.

iVSEC cameras and NVRs offer robust, flexible surveillance solutions for various security needs. One of their standout features is the ability to provide an ONVIF stream.

For iVSEC devices, enabling the ONVIF stream involves configuring the camera or NVR through the system’s interface to ensure the ONVIF service is activated. Once set up, third-party software or compatible NVRs can connect to the camera using the standard ONVIF credentials, allowing for live feeds and playback.

By using the ONVIF protocol, iVSEC cameras and NVRs can allow users to push a live video stream to devices, regardless of the brand or model of the receiving system. This is particularly beneficial for integration with third-party systems or expanding an existing surveillance setup without being locked into a specific vendor’s ecosystem.

Conversely, the iVSEC range of NVRs also have the ability to pull an ONVIF stream from any product that supports this protocol. This means whether it is a CCTV camera, NVR, Video Doorbell, or even a SIP capable speaker or microphone, the iVSEC range of NVRs is the ideal solution to your recording needs.

Depending on the camera, NVR model, and firmware version (V8.2.4+), the ONVIF version includes profiles S, T, G, and M. These profiles are critical for users relying on third-party systems or VMS.

The inclusion of Profile M in iVSEC products enables full utilization of metadata and event data for advanced analytic applications.

This is particularly beneficial for cameras deployed on larger sites, enhancing their integration with systems like NxWitness or Milestone. The ability to leverage metadata allows for improved analytics and event tracking, which is essential for large-scale surveillance and efficient monitoring in complex environments.
