Success Story: Quest Woolloongabba's Security Upgrade
Smarter Security at Quest Woolloongabba
Guest safety is a top priority for every accommodation provider. But with busy lobbies, car parks, rooftop facilities and constant guest movement, hotels and serviced apartments need a security system that delivers complete visibility without disrupting daily operations.
That was the goal for Quest Woolloongabba, a 132-room serviced apartment in Brisbane, when it upgraded its CCTV system with iVSEC.
Working alongside Netfone and iVSEC distribution partner Alloys, the property modernised its surveillance system to improve coverage, simplify management and create a platform ready for future expansion.
The Challenge
Quest Woolloongabba already had an existing CCTV system, but as the property grew, several limitations became apparent.
The team wanted to:
- Improve coverage across key outdoor and common areas
- Eliminate blind spots without installing new cabling
- Upgrade to a modern, easy-to-manage NVR platform
- Give front office staff better visibility of the property
- Build a system that could easily expand in the future
Like many operating hotels, carrying out a major cabling project wasn't practical. The solution needed to maximise existing infrastructure while delivering better performance.
A Smarter CCTV Design
Instead of replacing everything, Netfone designed a solution that made better use of the existing network.

The upgrade included a new iVSEC NVR with additional recording capacity and spare ports, providing plenty of room for future camera expansion.
To maximise coverage, the team installed iVSEC 180° panoramic cameras in key outdoor locations. Combined with splitter boxes, this approach allowed multiple areas to be monitored using existing cabling, reducing installation time, costs and disruption to guests.
The result was wider coverage with fewer blind spots, particularly around the rooftop terrace, access points and vehicle areas.

Better Visibility for Staff
Security isn't only about recording footage, it's also about responding quickly when something happens.
A large live monitoring display was installed in the reception office, giving staff an instant view of high-priority areas throughout the property.

Whether monitoring guest activity during busy check-in periods or keeping an eye on the car park, the team can now identify issues faster and respond with confidence.
The intuitive iVSEC platform also makes reviewing footage and exporting video much simpler when incidents need to be investigated.
Proof That Every Camera Matters
During the installation, the value of the new system became immediately apparent.

The cameras captured footage of an individual riding a bicycle who attempted to break into a contractor's utility vehicle in broad daylight.
It's a reminder that security incidents don't only occur after dark. Car parks, delivery zones and staff areas remain vulnerable throughout the day, making reliable surveillance an essential part of hotel operations.
With clearer footage and wider coverage, the Quest team now has stronger evidence to support investigations, insurance claims and incident reporting whenever required.
A Future-Ready Security Solution
Following the upgrade, Quest Woolloongabba now benefits from:
- Wider coverage using iVSEC 180° panoramic cameras
- Better visibility across rooftop and outdoor areas
- A modern iVSEC NVR with additional storage and expansion capacity
- Live monitoring for faster response times
- A scalable platform ready for future growth
Most importantly, the solution was delivered with minimal disruption by making smart use of the building's existing infrastructure.
Delivering Confidence Every Day
For hotels and serviced apartments, security is about more than protecting property—it's about creating a safe environment where guests and staff feel confident.
The Quest Woolloongabba deployment demonstrates how the right CCTV design can improve visibility, simplify operations and prepare a property for future growth without the cost of extensive re-cabling.
Whether you're upgrading an existing system or planning a new installation, iVSEC provides flexible, intelligent security solutions built for the hospitality industry.
